Your regulars in Qatar already message you on WhatsApp

In Qatar, Talabat and Snoonu deliver, and your regulars would rather book and reorder with you directly, on WhatsApp. Bookings, group events and repeat orders can run there, without paying a commission on customers who are already yours.

In short
  • Delivery apps bring new customers and charge a commission on every repeat order.
  • WhatsApp is where regulars book tables, ask about events and reorder.
  • WhatsApp calls are blocked in Qatar. A booking request left unanswered is a customer who cannot even call you back in the app.
  • Confirmations with a one-tap reply cut no-shows on busy nights.
  • An agent handles bookings 24/7 and passes large groups and complaints to a manager.

How people in Qatar book and order

Doha’s dining scene runs from Souq Waqif to Msheireb, The Pearl and Lusail, with large groups, family occasions and a strong Ramadan season.

Delivery apps take a commission on every order, including the ones from customers who already know you. Those are the orders worth moving to WhatsApp.

🛵

Direct orders

Regulars reorder in the thread, without a commission.

📵

No WhatsApp calls

Booking, confirmation and changes all happen in writing.

A booking in the thread

At service time nobody has a hand free for the phone. Booking requests wait, and the table goes to someone who called another restaurant.

The agent checks availability, takes the booking with the details that matter (group size, seating, occasion), confirms, and reminds. Large groups and special requests go to a manager.

What direct repeat orders are worth

A conservative model: a tenth of repeat delivery orders move to direct ordering on WhatsApp. It ignores no-shows and events.

The local rules in Qatar

Most Gulf deployments fail on local detail, not on strategy. Here is what the setup takes into account.

  • Data law. Law No. 13 of 2016 on personal data privacy, the first data protection law in the GCC. Consent before marketing, and an opt-out that is honoured everywhere.
  • Calendar. The working week runs Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday are the weekend. Nothing goes out on the local weekend or a public holiday unless you decide otherwise.
  • Time zone. UTC+3, one hour behind Dubai. Send windows are set in local time, per line.
  • Language. English and Arabic, with Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Tagalog common among the large expatriate majority.
  • Ramadan. Opening hours shrink and attention moves to the evening, after iftar. Send windows and follow-up timers are shifted for the month.

You cannot call your customer back on WhatsApp in Qatar. Voice and video calls inside the app are blocked by the telecom regulator; messaging works normally. When a lead writes at night, the written thread is not one channel among others: it is usually the only one that reaches them.

How we work

Three steps. You can stop after any of them.

Step 1

Diagnostic

We read your real conversations and your current follow-up. You get a written audit: where the leads die and what a faster reply is worth to you.

Step 2

Activation

We connect your WhatsApp lines, write the conversation playbook with your team, and train an AI agent on your own transcripts so it sounds like you.

Step 3

Run

A monthly subscription: we keep the agent trained, run the campaigns and watch the numbers. Your team keeps selling.

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace the delivery apps?

No. Apps are good at bringing new customers. WhatsApp is for the customers you already have: bookings, events and repeat orders you no longer need to pay a commission on.

Can it take payment?

Yes, with a payment link in the conversation, for deposits on group bookings or for direct orders.

What happens with a complaint?

The agent acknowledges it, collects the details and passes it to a manager straight away. It never argues and never promises compensation you have not approved.

Our customers cannot call us on WhatsApp. Does that matter?

It makes the written reply essential. The agent answers bookings in real time so nobody has to call.

Can it take orders for delivery?

Yes, with the address and a payment link, passed to your kitchen or delivery team.

Which data law applies?

Qatar’s Law No. 13 of 2016. Consent before sending offers, recorded per customer.
