Your regulars in the UAE already message you on WhatsApp

In the UAE, Talabat, Deliveroo and noon Food bring new customers, and your regulars would book and reorder with you directly if you made it easy. Bookings, group events and repeat orders can run there, without paying a commission on customers who are already yours.

In short
  • Delivery apps bring new customers and charge a commission on every repeat order.
  • WhatsApp is where regulars book tables, ask about events and reorder.
  • Weekend brunch and big-occasion evenings are booked days in advance. Missed messages are missed tables.
  • Confirmations with a one-tap reply cut no-shows on busy nights.
  • An agent handles bookings 24/7 and passes large groups and complaints to a manager.

How people in the UAE book and order

Dubai and Abu Dhabi have one of the most competitive restaurant scenes in the world. Weekend brunches, rooftop bookings and group events drive revenue, and all of them start with a message.

Customers speak many languages and expect an instant, precise answer: availability, dress code, minimum spend, parking.

🥂

Brunch and events

Group bookings with minimum spend and deposit handled in the thread.

The agent answers in the customer’s language.

No WhatsApp calls

VoIP calls are blocked in the UAE. Bookings are confirmed in writing.

A booking in the thread

At service time nobody has a hand free for the phone. Booking requests wait, and the table goes to someone who called another restaurant.

The agent checks availability, takes the booking with the details that matter (group size, seating, occasion), confirms, and reminds. Large groups and special requests go to a manager.

What direct repeat orders are worth

A conservative model: a tenth of repeat delivery orders move to direct ordering on WhatsApp. It ignores no-shows and events.

Example: a restaurant in UAE
Delivery orders per month through apps2,000
Share moved to direct WhatsApp ordering10%
Average basketAED 110

The local rules in the UAE

Most Gulf deployments fail on local detail, not on strategy. Here is what the setup takes into account.

  • Data law. Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL). Consent and a working opt-out on every marketing send.
  • Calendar. Since 2022 the working week runs Monday to Friday, with a short Friday. Saturday and Sunday are the weekend. Nothing goes out on the local weekend or a public holiday unless you decide otherwise.
  • Time zone. UTC+4, one hour ahead of Riyadh and Doha. Send windows are set in local time, per line.
  • Language. English by default, Arabic for Emirati customers, and Hindi, Urdu and Russian on detection, often in the same day.
  • Ramadan. Opening hours shrink and attention moves to the evening, after iftar. Send windows and follow-up timers are shifted for the month.

You cannot call your customer back on WhatsApp in the UAE. Voice and video calls inside the app are blocked by the telecom regulator; messaging works normally. When a lead writes at night, the written thread is not one channel among others: it is usually the only one that reaches them.

How we work

Three steps. You can stop after any of them.

Step 1

Diagnostic

We read your real conversations and your current follow-up. You get a written audit: where the leads die and what a faster reply is worth to you.

Step 2

Activation

We connect your WhatsApp lines, write the conversation playbook with your team, and train an AI agent on your own transcripts so it sounds like you.

Step 3

Run

A monthly subscription: we keep the agent trained, run the campaigns and watch the numbers. Your team keeps selling.

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace the delivery apps?

No. Apps are good at bringing new customers. WhatsApp is for the customers you already have: bookings, events and repeat orders you no longer need to pay a commission on.

Can it take payment?

Yes, with a payment link in the conversation, for deposits on group bookings or for direct orders.

What happens with a complaint?

The agent acknowledges it, collects the details and passes it to a manager straight away. It never argues and never promises compensation you have not approved.

Can it handle minimum spend and deposits?

Yes. The agent explains the conditions you set and sends a payment link for the deposit when needed.

Does it replace our reservation system?

No. It feeds it, or works from its availability where it has an API. Otherwise it books in a shared calendar your team sees.

Which data law applies?

Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. Consent for offers, an opt-out that always works.
