The mistake that costs the most
A campaign scheduled for Friday morning is a normal choice in Paris. In Riyadh and Doha it lands on the weekend, and your open rate drops for a reason that has nothing to do with your message.
The reverse also happens. Sunday is a working day in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and it is one of the best days of the week to reach a decision-maker. European schedules skip it entirely.
One region, two clocks
Setting a single send window for the Gulf will be an hour off for two markets out of three. If you send at 10 a.m. Dubai time, it is 9 a.m. in Riyadh and Doha. That is usually fine. At the edges of the day it is not: an 8 a.m. Dubai send arrives at 7 a.m. in Riyadh, before most offices open.
Ramadan is not a month to skip
Working hours are reduced, daytime decision-making slows and attention shifts to the evening. Many companies simply pause, which is a mistake, because Ramadan evenings are among the strongest engagement windows of the entire year, especially in retail, hospitality and travel.
The move is not to stop. It is to shift the window late and change the tone.
